This easy diy recipe card holder was made from the leftover spindle piece of my small repurposed spindle Angel. I just couldn’t bare to throw away any part of my spindle, it took to long to get my hands on some old wooden spindles.

Easy Diy Recipe Card Holder
This is a very easy diy project that you could make in under an hour.
I used 14 gauge copper wire to form the wire spiral to hold a recipe card, lightly hammered it to work harden, and help it hold it’s shape.
Dipped it in liver of sulfur to add a patina. Once I painted the leftover spindle, I drilled my hole in the top center, a little larger then the wire itself.
Add a dab of glue to the end of the wire before placing in the hole. Tie some jute or scrap fabric around the neck and your done.
Wasn’t that easy? What kind of project have you made using wooden spindles?

That’s such a great idea Linda. I don’t really have recipe cards but this would be so awesome to hold photos or even cute cards from the kids.

Oh my this is such a cute idea Linda. You really got lots of use out of your spindle! And very practical too,. My recipes are always getting dirty and full of food because I have them laying on the counter top.

Thank you Mary! I couldn’t let any part of my precious spindle go to waste, and it keeps the recipe off the counter top.
