This little mason jar mummy lantern is so easy to make and are really cute. This would be a fun project for the kiddos, you would have to help the little ones though or you may find yourself with mod podge everywhere.
How To Make A Mason Jar Mummy Lantern
[tweetthis display_mode=”box”]How to make a fun mummy lantern out of a mason jar. #Halloween #diy #MasonJar[/tweetthis]
First cut your fabric for your Mason jar mummy lantern into 1/2″ to 3/4″ strips. About 8 – 10 pieces.
Use wax paper to lay your fabric strips onto when applying your mod podge.
Starting wrapping your strips at the rim of your Mason jar working down. Pressing the fabric down onto the jar, add a little more mod podge if needed to make it stick.
Continue wrapping leaving a few small gaps here and there. Some areas will have thicker layers of fabric, but that’s ok.
Continue wrapping the fabric strips until you get your mummy how you want it. Then let dry throughly.
Once dry glue on the eyes, then once the eyes are dry you can sit upright and add a battery operated tea light.
There you have it, a cute and easy mummy lantern. Make several to sit in the window for Halloween.
