Rustic Candle Holder
I found this wood block with the holes already cut and the metal cross, at the Canton’s First Monday Trade Day. (You could use a 4×4 and cut it the length you want then drill your own holes.)
The cross had a metal nail affixed to the back so I cut off what I could then I marked where I wanted the cross, and then drilled a small hole to accommodate the rest that I couldn’t remove.
I want it to have a rustic look, so I didn’t sand it to much. I painted it an antique white color, gave it two coats.
I let that dry overnight, and then I sanded the edges to help add to the old rustic look that I’m going for.
I sprayed painted the cross with “Hammered” Rust-Oleum brand paint to give the cross a unique hammered finish.
What do you think of my Rustic Candle Holder? Do you think that I should make it darker or do you like this color?
