I picked up this wooden candle holder at the Goodwill, and of course I forgot to take the before pictures.
It use to be black with red insets. I took it and cleaned the wax off, then gave it two coats of Indian Turquoise acrylic paint.
Once dry I scuffed up the edges, then lightly rubbed my black ink pad across the edges.
I then cut four small burlap pieces to fit the four insets.
Glued burlap pieces into the four insets.
Then I added a silver cross charm in each inset.
For the candle I used leather looking scrapebook paper, burlap, hot glue gun, and a large wire cross charm that I made.
I cut my paper and burlap into strips large enough to wrap around my candle with a little overlap, the scrapebook paper is a little wider then the burlap.
I attached my charm to the burlap.
Next I wrapped my scrapebook paper around the candle and hot glue it in place.
Then I wrapped the burlap around the candle and glue it.
That's it for this easy candle holder re-do! What do you think?
