I found this wonder tutorial for hand-painting chickadees at “Flower Patch Farmhouse” amongst all of the other great tutorials and video’s and I decided to give it a try,and painted Chickadees on some wood.
This is the first bird, and nest that I have painted. When I had my craft booth years ago, I painted whimsical animals, so painting a real life bird is new to me.
I used a block of wood that I first stained, then dry brushed some white acrylic paint on. Then I drew off, and painted the tree limb, and nest. Once dry I added the birds.
I guess it’s not to bad for my first try of painted Chickadees, but I’m just not real happy with it. Pamela made it look so much easier in her tutorial.
