This burlap tree on wood picket is another one of my crafts made from wooden fence pickets. Two of my favorite materials, wood and burlap.
How To Make A Burlap Tree On Wood Picket
This burlap tree on wood picket was another one of my spur of the moment craft ideas.
I had a few pickets cut at different lengths that I had already used my aging solution on so I grabbed one.
Then I dry brushed some green acrylic paint onto the front of the board, letting some of the aged wood show through.

While that’s was drying I cut some triangles of different sizes out of burlap.
Using the largest burlap triangle first, I add some Mod Podge to one side then press it down on the lower part of my picket.
Then I added the next size burlap triangle and continue until I had them all glued down in place.
I used white acrylic paint to add the word Joy at the top of my picket.
Once it’s all dry I then hot glued a twig for the trunk of the tree. Then decorated it with buttons, stars. You could use whatever you have on hand.
That’s all there is to this diy burlap tree on wood picket. Add a hook on the back to hang it by, or just sit it on a shelf, either way you have a pretty addition to your holiday decor.
I really like how my spur of the moment project turned out. What do you think?
