DIY Decorative Chalk Paint Bottle
I can’t resist pretty bottles. So when I ran across this bottle at a yard sale I had to buy it, and I knew exactly what I was going to do.
I gave it two coats of Anne Sloan chalk paint, then gave it a light sanding here and there.
To give it that rustic worn look.
Then I added a coat of Mod Podge to seal and protect my chalk paint bottle.
I had a metal flower that I had picked up at Hobby Lobby knowing this would look great on just the perfect bottle.
And this was just the perfect bottle. So I laid the bottle down flat and used my E-6000 glue to attach the metal flower to my diy decorative chalk paint bottle. I let dry over night.
I love how it turned out! My intentions was to take it to my craft booth, but decided on keeping it.
What do you think of my DIY decorative chalk paint bottle?

Thanks Renee! When I seen the metal flower I had to buy it. Knew it would be good to embellish something. Just happened this bottle had the perfect spot.

Linda, I so loved this post! I have wanted to try chalk paint but it’s so expensive. I would like to use it on my kitchen cupboards and I knew that it would be costly. I was reading your post and saw that you used Annie Sloan chalk paint on this bottle which turned out gorgeous, but I remembered that you did another project with chalk paint you made with baking soda, so I went back and read that post then followed your links to read about all the different kinds of paint. Now 45 minutes later I’m back to add my comment of thanks! LOL I was lost down a rabbit hole of your making! I almost sent a smoke signal, I was lost. I really appreciate your posts on this topic, I love the way that your bottles turned out, did you notice a grainy texture? Pinning so I can come back to this again and again. What did I do before pinterest???

I was going to do our kitchen cabinets in Annie Sloan chalk paint, but after using it on a few pieces of furniture I decided I was not up to all that work with the antiquing wax. Plus I’ve noticed that the wax leaves a tacky feel, and I didn’t want that on my kitchen cabinets. The homemade chalk paint does have a grainy texture but for my craft projects I am find with that. When I get on Pinterest I get side tracked and lost as well, it’s hard not to there’s so much to see.

Gorgeous! And, I love how your bottle photographs, too.

Thanks Linda! I got lucky with the photo, I still struggle with photography.

So pretty! Did it sell? Wonder what the bottle originally held…
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thank you Florence! No it didn’t, when the hubby seen it he laid claim. It’s now siting on a shelf in our living room. I thought maybe some kind of alcohol.
