For those of you that are following along in my creative journey in life have probably noticed some things missing. A bloggers worst nightmare is when their website crashes, and once it is back up and running the blogger starts to notice that some things are missing, like one of the important must haves for a blog, Pictures!
You can image how upset and freaked out I was and still am. Blogging takes a whole lot of work, it’s like a full time job, and I already have a full time job that keeps me away 11 hours out of the day. So that doesn’t leave me much time to work on my blog, so blogging has been a big struggle for me as it is when everything is running smoothly. Then when a problem arises I stress and freak out until problem solved then cross I my fingers hoping nothing else happens.
My daughter tells me to slow down that I work too hard and I do because I want this blogging thing to work, and I’m determine to make it work. Anyone that really knows me is probably amazed that I have come this far with my blog. You see I am a very shy person, not good with words, a bad speller (which blogging and auto fix has helped me improve my spelling), and not so good with grammar but there’s also programs to help with that like Microsoft Word, etc.
[tweetthis display_mode=”box”]Bloggers Worst Nightmare! #blogging [/tweetthis]
It takes me forever to write a blog post, tutorials and recipes aren’t so hard. I struggle with my responds to comments and leaving comments unless it’s something I am familiar with like a tutorial, recipe, gardening, etc. So what takes someone a few minutes to write, it takes me twice as long if not longer.
I have to learn to just take one day at a time, things happen and I just have to work through it. I need to just stop and be Thankful for all that this shy non techie Texas girl has accomplished. I amaze myself how far I have come, and that I even have a blog. I think my love for creating and wanting to share with others is the reason that I keep going and working through all the kinks thrown my way. (Love for creating, and my stubbornness to not give up).
So with all this said you now know a little bit more about me and what keeps me going. I am not a quitter, and I will keep on chugging along one day at a time. I will try to replace the pictures that I can, and the ones I can’t I will just have to walk you through that part of the tutorial. So it will be slow going fixing everything because I have so many other task that I need to keep up with on a daily basis as well.
So please bare with me through the post that are missing pictures, it is going to take some time to fix everything. Thanks so much for sticking with me I really appreciate all of you. If you have any questions about a post please don’t hesitate to ask, I love hearing your comments, and suggestions.
Thanks for reading a bloggers worst nightmare, I thought it was important to let my friends and readers know what was going on with my blog. Have a great day!

Hey, Linda! So sorry that that happened to you. Is there a plugin that can help restore your photos like the plugins that help switch photos over when you switch themes? Thank you for sharing your vulnerabilities, too!
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thank you Regina! I don’t know of a plugin like that. I did try the backup and restore in bluehost, I even went to the image files and neither worked. I think that I will be signing back up with a backup service like crashplan, that way I will have a separate backup from bluehost. So if anything happens hopefully one of them will restore everything back. Thanks for stopping by!

I’m sorry that your site crashed. On a good day, it’s hard to keep up with it all! You have the right attitude though. Just keep plugging along doing the best you can. Hope all goes well!
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thank you Cathy! It is very stressful, and for someone that’s not a blogger they just don’t understand. Blogging is a job on it’s own. I would usually be more stressed, but I slept on it and woke up thinking there is nothing I can do but to just try to replace the pictures and that will take time so I need to just move on and quit stressing. I will just try to fix one or two a day when I run across them.

Like you said Linda, you are not a quitter and that is what will get you through this nightmare! Have patience and persaverence and you’ll be able to restore everything, one day at a time. I also am like you in that I am quite low key and have found my happy place in the blogshere. Patience my friend, your true followers will continue to visit and not give up.
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thank you Mary! I don’t have much patience but I have worked to hard to quit, it just going to take a little longer. But hey I got seven more years till I can retire. So I got plenty of time, LOL. I sure wish I had gotten into computer programing when I was younger. But computers weren’t big like they are now. Everyone has them now.

Girl, you are so strong and an inspiration to us all. Like you said, you are not a quitter, it may take time, but in the end you will be better for it all. I know, you want to smack me for saying that, and it stinks, but seriously, you got this!!! And if there’s anything I can do to help, you know I will!!! xoxoxoxo
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thanks Nikki! I am learning something everyday, and some I learn the hard way. Like the backup at Bluehost isn’t enough, if I would of stayed with Crashplan I wouldn’t be in this situation. But live and learn. I will be signing back up with them on my days off. And no I don’t want to smack you, you have been amazingly helpful in so many ways already. Nikki you are the inspiration, you are a amazing woman, everything you do to help everyone else even when you have so many things going on in your own life. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!!

Oh no! I am so sorry this happened to you, too! I went through this a couple of months ago and thought my heart stopped. I lost 6 months worth of work. I feel for you! But take your time and maybe you even might realize that it wasn’t all that bad after all. Maybe that was in your life’s plan. I trust that things happen for a reason although it doesn’t look like it in the beginning. Best wishes! Thank you also for sharing this at my craft party! Hope to see you this Thursday again at 7pm EST.
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thank you Denise! I was pretty stressed when it first happened. Now I’m just going to take it one day at a time and try not to stress. Thanks for stopping by! Love your link parties!
Robyn says
What a pain, that sounds very stressful indeed! Good on you for being proactive and getting on with fixing it as and when you can, I would be more likely throw my hands up in despair :/
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
I stressed for a while then I decided I got to stop because it’s not good to stress, and it doesn’t do any good, because it won’t fix it. I did finally find someone that’s going to work on my blog sometime this week, so hopefully he can recover them, if not then I will just continue one day at a time. Thanks for stopping by!

Oh Linda that is a nightmare I certainly don’t want to have! Websites can be so temperamental and you need to remember so much. Thanks for sharing your post with us at #OvertheMoon and giving us some insight into what we need to look out for. Hope you are back up and running with all your pictures very soon
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thanks Sue! I finally found someone to look over my site and fix any problems, hopefully he can recover my pictures. But I’m afraid there gone, when I looks for them a lot of the files I opened were empty.

I still need to put some pictures back in the old posts after I moved over to wordpress.
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
I lost comments when I changed hosting services, and now I have at least 54 post with missing pictures and probably more I haven’t ran across yet.

Sorry to hear about your blogging struggles. I’m sure that is a big nightmare for you and I hope you are able to sort things soon. I really appreciated you sharing your regular blogging struggles too. You’re comments about being shy and having to really thing about writing and replying really resonated with me as I am like that too – but I find it that in doing it that it has helped me to get out of my comfort zone. For that reason I have chosen this as my featured post for this week’s Blog Fair. Thanks for your regular support of the link party!
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Hi Karen! It helps to know that there is other bloggers that struggle to with shyness and writing, gives me hope that one day I too will get out of my comfort zone and it won’t be such a struggle. I really enjoy your parties! Thanks for stopping by and for the feature!
