I made these two Saint Patrick’s Day Signs on a couple of the drawer fronts that I picked up the other day at Habitat For Humanity.
How To Make Saint Patrick’s Day Signs
They were already white but I gave them a coat of my homemade chalk paint just to make sure my acrylics would stick to the drawer front.

Next I stenciled the word Irish with green acrylic paint.
Then I used some of my waterbase antiquing medium. Add a sawtooth hook to the back and that’s it.
Saint Patrick’s Day Four Leaf Clover
Just like the sign above, I added a coat of my homemade chalk paint to the front and sides.
I then drew a four leaf clover on the drawer front.
I used some green acrylic paint and a old paint brush and the stippling technique to fill in the four leaf clover.
Then I free handed painted the word Lucky across the four leaf clover.

I then let everything dry overnight, because I have had the black paint smear before, even when it feels dry.
Then I added some antique medium, by dipping my brush in water then in a dab of the antiquing medium(affiliate). Paint on and wipe off, working in a small section at a time so it doesn’t dry.
Add a saw tooth hook for hanging, and there you have it. Two easy diy Saint Patrick’s Day Signs. What kind of projects are you working on for St. Patty’s Day?

What a cute way to upcycle some scrap wood, Linda! And it can be done with specific words or images for every season.
Thanks for linking up with us at #2usestuesday!

I think making signs from scrap wood is my favorite projects, it’s easy and like you say it can be done for every season, etc.

You are so creative! I know that every holiday is special in your house, and treated as such! I need to be more like you, days just seem to fade away here, like those 24 hours never existed! LOL This would help to make the day as special! I love the font you used for the word “irish” very eye catching!
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thanks Nikki! Actually with us so busy working the dreaded day job and then working on our house we don’t decorate much. Once everything is in order if we ever get there we can start decorating. I like making the stuff the hubby is the one that likes to decorate.

That’s cute Linda! I like the way you put the idea together, & to be able to draw freehand!
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thank you Florence! Usually takes me a few tries to get it like I like when drawing freehand. But when you don’t have the stencil you do what you have to do. 😉
