Repurposing Mason jars can be so much fun! You can find so many awesome repurposed Mason jar projects on Pinterest, or even in a Google search.
So when I found this little metal tray at the thrift shop I knew exactly what I was going to make.
A 3 piece repurposed Mason jar bathroom storage set.
How to Make a Repurposed Mason Jar Set
First off I spray painted the metal tray with the Hammered Rust-oleum spray paint. (I use it in lots of projects, love the stuff).
For the Mason jars I gave them a dose of the rust-oleum spray paint too, lids and all. (told you I loved the stuff, no it’s really so it will show through my top coats).
For each jar I mixed some of my regular acrylic paints with some antique white chalk paint that I had. (I chose these colors because two of them match my granite bathroom counter top, and the green I just threw in because I liked it and thought that it would go well with the other two).
I applied 3 light coats per jar. Once dry I lightly sanded the jars over the raised areas till my rust-oleum paint showed through.
I added the vintage knobs to the mason jar lids with gorilla glue (a little bit goes a long ways, and it takes quite awhile to dry). Next time I think I’ll try a different glue.
Lastly I added a coat of Mod Podge for protection (great stuff).
The 3 Mason jars fit perfectly in the little metal tray, and I love how my newly repurpsed mason jar set turned out.
