One of my favorite dishes is my easy homemade chicken and biscuit dumplings. I can make a big pot and eat on it all week. Yummmmy!!!
I have used biscuits before by just pulling pieces off and dropping in the boiling chicken broth. But this time I’m going to try it a little differently by rolling them out flat and coating with flour.
First add your water and bouillon granules to your large pot, and turn on medium heat. Stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle some flour onto your wax paper, and pat some on a biscuit. Now using your rolling pin roll the biscuit out flat. Sprinkle flour on as needed to keep biscuit from sticking to rolling pin.
Once you have a couple of your biscuits rolled flat, use your butter knife to cut into strips. Toss your strips in a large bowl as you cut them.
Once all your biscuits are rolled flat and cut into strips and placed into the large bowl, sprinkle a little flour over and toss to coat.
Once your chicken stock comes to a boil start dropping your biscuit strips into the boiling pot. Turn heat down if needed, but keep the chicken stock boiling.
Add your canned chicken.
Add parsley, basil, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Continue to cook on a low boil stirring occasionally until liquids thicken. Approximately 30 – 40 minutes.
That’s it for my easy homemade chicken and biscuit dumplings.
Dish up and enjoy!
