This you & me forever wall art is made from a repurposed louvered door. This wooden louvered door is from the swinging louvered doors that we removed from the wet bar area that’s part of our Texas room makeover.
We had a wall in our sunroof that didn’t have any kind of decor/wall art hanging on it. I do believe that the hubby thinks that ever inch of every wall needs something on it, LOL. So I came up with this you and me wall art to please him by filling this space.
Diy Repurposed Louvered Door
The wooden louvered door was white, but I wanted a color that would pop. So I used a turquoise colored Acrylic paint.

Next I stenciled the words “You & Me” to the top part of my repurposed louvered door. Than I stenciled the word “Forever” to the bottom of the door.
I used floral wire to connect the metal star to the louvered door.
Using Gorilla Wood Glue I then added my faux galvanized metal letters, and a burlap flower with a button in the center. I sat something heavy on top of the letters and flower until the glue dried.
Now the wall space is filled, the hubby is happy, and I’m happy how my repurposed louvered door turned out. Just think he would of thrown this wooden louvered door out if I wouldn’t of grabbed it. I knew that I could find some way to repurpose this louvered door.

Linda this is such a great repurpose. I love that pop of color you have added by painting the louvered door a blue color. A nice bold choice. The metal work is a nice touch too and the dark colors really stand out against the blue. And now hubby is happy so I guess that is all that matters.

Thank you Mary! I finally got my pop of color, LOL. Still afraid to try it on some furniture, but I guess this is a start. And the hubby is happy so that is a good thing. (;

Beautiful Linda, love how the letters look against that gorgeous blue of the louvered door.
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thank you Michelle! I love that color of blue and I think the faux metal against it does look pretty good.

Linda, I love this repurposed door!! The stenciling looks great and I really like the star and letters. My husband has learned to ask me before tossing anything out, lol. He knows if he doesn’t there’s a good chance I’ll snag whatever it is that he’s throwing out.
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thank you Keri! If took me awhile to get the hang of stenciling. When I first tried I was adding to much paint and it ran every time.
I guess I don’t have my husband trained yet, LOL. He still tries to throw things out instead of asking if I want it.

I really love how the letters look like real metal and I love the colors you chose for this project.
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thank you Celeste! I am really happy how the letters turned out. If I ever need metal looking anything I will try this technique out again.

I just love how you take something you already have and make something new and beautiful from it!
Linda @ Mixed Kreations says
Thank you Sarah! It is fun being able to take something and give it a new purpose, instead of it going in the trash.

Linda, I love the turquoise color you chose, you know blues are my favorites. It makes it so fun. And now that I see the faux galvanized letters on the door I love them even more!
So cool that your husband wants you to decorate, obviously he too loves what you do. You are so creative I love seeing what you are up to!

Thank you Mary! The different variety of turquoise colors are my favorite as well. I really happy how the letters turned out.
Yes it surprises me how much he likes the things that I make. He is very supportive in everything that I do.

Thank you Kim! I can’t bring up the courage to paint a piece of furniture a bright pop of color so the next best thing is some wall decor. LOL
