Yay!!! Spring is finally here, but with spring the big clean up starts. So today I want to share a few of my thrift store finds with you that I will be working on, and let you know that I will be taking a few weeks off from my blog posting. But I will still be working on some fun projects to share with you when I’m back.
With the hubby gone for training that leaves all the yard work for me, and he still has about another two and a half weeks to go. If I don’t get on it the weeds will take over my flower beds. Not only do I need to work in the flower beds, but the squiggly’s are falling so I need to get them off the pool cover before they break down more and drop into the pool. And if I even want to have a garden this year I need to get on that as well.
My neighbor has been a big blessing by mowing the front and side of the yard for me. I spent over an hour yesterday mowing just half of the back yard. So his help has been a big relief for me. I wanted to pay him but he refused, so in return they get CHOCOLATE! Today I will make the second round of chocolate candy for them, my homemade chocolate turtles. YUM!!!
Well enough of that now I want to show you some of the fun thrift store finds that I have picked up recently.
Thrift Store Finds
My plans for this metal sign is to turn it into a magnetic board for notes.
I think that this cute little box just needs a coat of paint, and maybe change the pull knob out. Haven’t made up my mind there. What do you think, should I keep the knob, or change it out?
Next is my candle sticks. I am wanting to make something for organizing some of the things (eye cream, moisturizer, etc.) that I use daily in the bathroom, but I think that I need to look some more for another dish, pan, can or something.
Lastly is this ugly magazine rack. What were they thinking? I really could use some ideas for this ugly duckling.

Linda you really found some neat stuff! That box immediately caught my eye. I can see it painted. As for the knob. I guess it depends on what color you paint it. I also really like the candlesticks. And I cannot wait to see what you are going to do with the ugly magazine rack. Time is flying by quickly and your husband will be back before you know it.

Thanks Mary! I was thrilled with my finds, I usually go in there and come out with nothing. I’ve been so busy that I haven’t got to work much on my projects, so I will be so glad when the hubby gets home. Plus I miss him so much! I need help with all the yard work 😉

OoooEeee those all have so much potential. I’m not sure about the knob on the box, maybe paint it first and then see if it needs changing? The magazine rack is “different” and I don’t doubt that you’ll turn it into something awesome though. You always do come up with the most beautiful ideas. Stay safe and don’t work to hard, hubby will be back soon.

I feel like I hit the jack box that day. Usually I come out empty handed. Now I just got to get my butt in gear and get started on the makeovers. I just had to take some time off, hard to keep up with everything around the house, work and blog while the hubby was gone. But he’s back now YAY! Now I got to get with it. 😉

Thanks Joanna! Yes I got lucky at Goodwill. It’s always a hit of miss there, usually a miss. The little box was my favorite, and it is a keeper! Thanks for stopping by!
