Spring is here in Texas, and the last few weeks I’ve been busy working in my flowerbeds, garden areas, and making tree branch trellis.
I’m so excited of all my flowers blooming. Since we’ve moved here about the only thing that’s bloomed was the roses over the last couple years, so I had no idea what color irises I had, or a couple other bulbs. Which I’m waiting to see what color they are.
My irises and mini roses are blooming.
It’s hard to see but I have three different colors of daffodils mixed in with the roses.
This is a flowerbeds in the front yard, still need to do some weeding here.
My little scarecrow is surrounded by pretty purple irises, Mexican marigolds (not blooming) and a small Rosemary bush.
One of my pretty daffodils.
Light purple irises.
I have yellow irises as well. The purple is still my favorite.
My Hostas is coming back.
My new Saliva bush.
The Pomegranate bush I bought when we went to visit my oldest daughter over Easter.
Got more pole beans, tomatoes, squash and jalapeño peppers planted here.
See how much my pole beans have grown from a few weeks back. Their starting to climb my tree branch trellis.
My squash plants are to the left, they’ve grown quite a bit as well.
Now Lets Make Some Tree Branch Trellis
You will need three sturdy tree limbs approximately 5 feet in length, and two different sizes of smaller limbs from around 2 feet to 18 inches. Three of each.
[tweetthis display_mode=”box”]How to make a tree branch trellis. #Gardening [/tweetthis]
Wire the three sturdy limbs together.
Stand the limbs up and spread them apart, then start wiring each 2′ piece to the lower part of the larger limbs.
Wire the shorter pieces to the upper part of the trellis.
What do you think? I like how my Tree Branch Trellis turned out, they serve there purpose and the only expense is the wire.

What a lovely garden you have, there’s so much gorgeous color! Your trellises are very creative. I love the rustic look. They would look great in my cottage garden. Off to pin!

Thank you Kim! Trellis are so expensive, and after the hubby went trimmed happy I decided to put the tree limbs to good use. They work great for my pole beans. Thanks for sharing and stopping by!

What an incredibly easy and creative idea! The branches don’t overwhelm your garden, and they are very environmentally friendly. Plus, you garden is stunning!!

I don’t know how I missed seeing this post! You know I love seeing garden pictures and yours is so lovely!
I love iris and the yellow purple combination looks really great in your flower bed. The contrast really makes them stand out. And I love the Iris greenery. The spiked leaves are pretty even when the flowers are finished.
Will the pomegranate bush get fruit? I have never seen one before, but it sounds like fun.
Now on to the trellis! I love it. I use the tomato cages for plants that need to grow up, but it’s not nearly as pretty as this! I am going to look into this for next year, they look sturdy, but they also add a rustic touch to the garden area! Not only functional but pleasant on the eyes too!

I LOVE irises, they are pretty and hardy. Yes the pomegranate bush will give fruit, in fact it had a couple when we bought it but the birds got them I guess. I’ve never grown a pomegranate bush before I hope it does well. They are really good for you, but like everything that is good for you it comes with a high price. Just one pomegranate is around $4.00 here.
I use tomato cages as well, but I didn’t have enough for all my plants that needed something to grow up. When I priced them at Home Depot they were around $5.00 a piece WOW! I couldn’t bring myself to paying that. So since the hubby was doing some major trimming I thought this would be a great way to use them. They are free and sturdy, and I’m cheap. So this works, LOL
