Just recently I rented a space at a Antique/Craft Mall in Burleson, “Nashville of Texas”. I needed some items that I could make fairly quick to help fill up my booth, so I made these cute little wooden house blocks from the leftover wood from my booth walls.

They were really simple and quick. I first used my aged wood mixture, then I just dry brush the colors on the houses, leaving some of the aged wood showing through.

I used brown and terra cotta for the roof, blotting it on here and there not covering it completely.

Then I added doors and windows. I went back with a thin brush and some white paint and added the window panes. A dot for the door knobs and that’s it.

I thought these little wooden house blocks turned out so cute that I’m making me a set. ;-D

What do you think?

How cute are these? You could make a whole village and the grandkids could play with them every time they come over. There is no end to how you can decorate them. And they would be perfect for Christmas. In fact now, I’m starting to get ideas.
