The rain has finally stopped for a few days where we were able to get out in the yard and do some more work.

All the flowerbeds had been neglected so I have lots of work there. I got a compost started so that I can mulch the flowerbeds to help keep the weeds  out.

I had just got the weeds under control at our last house when we moved again. This is a lot larger yard (1.08 acreas) then before so it will take a while to get it all in order.

These are some of my flowers blooming. The top picture I think is some kind of iris that had been planted by the previous owners.

The second picture is a marigold, I like marigolds because they help deter pest. Next two pictures are my purple mums, I didn’t know they bloomed in spring too, I thought they only bloomed in the fall.

Lastly is my roses, previous owner planted oodles of roses, so many I couldn’t even get in flowerbed to weed.

Now don’t get me wrong I love roses, but I hate weeds in the flowerbeds. I like nice clean mulched beds.

I couldn’t bare the thought of digging them up and throwing them away though. I asked around until I found someone that wanted some. I bet I gave her about 10 rose bushes. Just glad I found a home for them.

So that’s what I’ve been up to,  besides working and blogging. What have you been up to lately?
