repurposed old saw

Repurposed Handsaw

Here is an old handsaw that I picked up at a flea market, that my hubby thought I was never going to do something with.

I got this idea from Carlene @ “Organized Clutter”. A very inspiring blog that I’m now following. Carlene is so creative with her junky thrift store finds.

repurposed old handsaw

This repurpose was inspired by Carlene’s Chippy Cabinet Board Grater Photo Display.

I know you say a saw is nothing like a grater, and that is true. But after digging through all my thrifty finds that was the only thing I came up with that was metal.

And seeing that it is a saw, some may think it’s a little odd hanging a saw in your living area to display pictures on, that’s when I decided to make it a honey do board.

Now another dilemma , button magnets wouldn’t look right. So off to the garage to see what I could come up with. Not much, one nut, washer, and small corner bracket. (I need to buy more nuts).

Hmm what to use? I know, I know…smashed bottle caps (I knew they would come in handy for something.

Now having everything I needed for this repurposed handsaw project, I commenced to sanding and cleaning up the saw blade. Added a acrylic wash to the handle, and made my magnets.

I love how it turned out! I’m taking it to my booth today, and going to look for some more old rusty junk ;-D

What do you think? Doesn’t it make a cute honey do board?
