Early Sunday morning while getting ready for work some strong winds and rain blew in. We could hear the winds, then we heard some noise but didn’t think a lot of it.

When leaving I noticed the gate had blown open, but again didn’t think a lot of it because it was really windy.

Upon arriving home I noticed that all the leaves in the yard closest to the driveway and in the neighbors yard were now up against the neighbors house and our fence, and the trash cans were gone. There were three in this corner of the fence.

If you look out by the shed you will see one of the trash cans. Notice the yard is pretty clear of leaves till you get back to where our trash cans are, and up by the fence.

I found the other two on the other side of the shed, one by the tree and the other over by the rock wall in the leaves.  The lid is up closer to my compost back in the far corner of the yard.

These three 5 gallon buckets full of dirt with a tomatoe plant and two peppers got turned over.

My poor greenhouse that was up a week ago with my plants inside got twisted and a hole in one corner. )-:

All my plants got knocked over that were on a wrought iron stand, on top of plants sitting on the ground.

Ripped my avocado tree out of pot, and bent up my pineapple plant. (We put my greenhouse in a spot where it’s gets little to no wind and even anchored it down).

Don’t think we had a tornado, but we had some kind of rotating turbulence come through. Notice how leaves are pushed up in a pile with kind of a circle clearing.

None of the pottery vases against the house were disturbed, and the leaves had been on the roof of the house that we just haven’t got up there to clean off yet. Patio was clear of leaves.

This 4′  Rubbermaid tub with pool equipment (not light) was about 10′ from greenhouse got pushed in the opposite  direction from the greenhouse, and turned over.

See the light spot on the right next to the curb, that’s where is was. The greenhouse behind me from where I’m taking this picture.

Found my cedar picket flag on the ground about 15′ from where it was attached with wire to our chain length fence.

My metal windmill and donkey were blown over. There’s the trash can lid in top right .

Our large metal star was found out in the yard about 50′ from where it was.

A few cement statues where turned over but other stuff near wasn’t even touched.

Oh and our kitchen window screen over facing driveway was bent up from opposite corner from the way the turbulation came.

No real damage except twisting my greenhouse up and tearing a hole, but I believe we can fix it.

We were fortunate that there was no real damage from the storm, and so sad that others in East Texas didn’t fare as well, I believe they had a tornado.

This weather is getting crazier by the year. More & more tornadoes, and lots of flooding, and even earthquakes where we’ve never had them.

About 6 months back we were sitting in our Texas room/den when we felt the house move, like rolling from one side to the other. Nothing major here in Texas but a lot of small earthquakes in the last few years. Scary!!!

Well enough about the crazy weather, what are your plans for the weekend? I know what we will be doing, putting up my greenhouse, again.

Glad nothing was too damaged. The weather is so unpredictable. Nature is boss, don’t you think?

Wow, those must have been some fierce winds! I find wind to be one of the most irritating and also most frightening weather elements. We live in quite a windy city and I hate battling it when I’m out for a walk. At our old house it would sometimes sounds like the roof was about to come off! That’s a shame you’ll have to spend time getting your ornaments and glasshouse back in order, but I’m glad to hear it’s all repairable.

Thanks Robyn! We never had wind do anything like that before. And it does get pretty windy here in Texas. But for it to come up driveway then circle around to greenhouse was really strange. But all good now. Everything’s back in order.

Hi Maria! I’m sorry to hear that. I don’t have my new one up yet but I am worried that it may not be able to with stand the strong winds.
