Two Ways to Grow Your Blog Traffic

Two Ways to Grow Your Blog Traffic

Having a blog is constant work, I always looking for ways to bring more traffic to my blog. About a week ago I stumbled on a great site by accident, “Learn to Blog Hangouts”. This site is full of information for bloggers that need help with promoting, using linky parties, google AdSense, SEO, and more.

The site is hosted live by two lively young ladies, Crystal and Kelli. They share videos at Learn to blog hangouts that are both entertaining and informative.

I have been in the process of restructuring, and trying to bring in more traffic to by blog. So I have found these video’s to be most helpful. I have already made a few minor changes to my blog that had to do with AdSense, and my blog layout.

The videos at Learn to blog hangouts are approximately 1 hour each. I have only had the time to watch a couple so far. The first one that I watched was “Five Easy Ways to Get More Blog Traffic”.

I’m in the process of implementing some of the ideas that I’ve learned through the video to bring more traffic through social media and other blogs. It will take time, especially having to work around a full time job schedule. I am setting my goal for six weeks and keeping an eye on my stats to see how it’s working.

There are two things that I am working on at the moment, the first is SEO. This one will take a while to fix because not only do I have to work on my new post, but I need to go back and work on all of my old post as well.

But as Kelli points out, not all post have to be optimized. Focus on the post that you are looking to rank well with the search engines for a particular keyword, or phrase.

The second thing I am working on is engaging more in social media. Social media is an important tool, and very time consuming. If used right it can bring a substantial amount of traffic to your blog.

Kelli’s tip is using a timer when you are on each social media site. Set the timer for 15 minutes, and for those 15 minutes engage with others by liking, commenting, sharing others post, ask questions, tweet, pin, etc. Once time goes off switch to another social media site and set your timer. This way you don’t get sucked in for hours at a time.

Crystal shared a wonderful tip for making engagement on Facebook easier and less time consuming, and that is by creating an interest list. You know how Facebook doesn’t show you everyone post or you have to scroll through a ton of post just to find your favorite people.

By creating an interest list, and adding your favorite people, and pages that you want to keep up with to that list will make it so much easier. You can make more than one list and give them each a different name. Then every day you can go to that list, engage, and share with your favorite bloggers without having to hunt for them.

To create an interest list go to your Facebook home page, click on “Interests” in the far left hand column. Click “+ Add interest”, name it then start adding your favorites.

Do you have any Facebook tips to make things easier and less time consuming?
