Yay! Spring is here. Been getting my garden ready for planting, and making spring time jewelry. When I started making this bracelet I wanted to add some spring time colors in my design, so I went digging through my beads and gemstones to see what I had. I came up with these pretty orange and turquoise gemstones.
This handmade bracelet is made from copper wire, orange quartizite nuggets, turquoise dyed jasper, and banded agate dyed red (which is really more of an orange color).
I first made my copper wire bead, which is made from 16 gauge copper. Then I made the spiral S links with the gemstones (18 gauge copper). My jumprings were cut from 16 gauge copper wire. Then I connected the the links together, added a few more larger jumprings for hooking my hand-formed spiral hook clasp through. The two small agate beads, and one 20 gauge copper wire bead hang from the hook clasp.
The last step was to oxidized the bracelet, and then tumble to work harden and polish. I am very happy with how it turned out. This is the bracelet I am going to use to enter the Favecrafts spring crafts blog hop.
